Reporting initiatives – general information
The desire for public accountability is as strong as it ever has been. Throughout the nation, from the smallest local municipality to the luminous federal government, countless initiatives are underway to assess and report the performance of their organizations, departments, programs, and projects to the public. These initiatives vary greatly in such aspects as scope, methodology, limitations, indicators used, frequency, and detail.
Intergovernmental collaborations are also becoming more popular on the various levels of government. These collaborations usually consist of several towns, cities, or even span across several states. Such collaborations are listed under the level of government with which it primarily functions.
The initiatives listed on the following pages are only a hand-full of the initiatives that currently exist.
